Working in collaboration with a wonderful man called David Cox, who has been making bespoke frames for over 40 years, I design and craft one off handmade spectacle frames from acetate. This is now a rare art in a world of mass, factory-line production.

We can copy a favourite pair of acetate frames in a different colour, or repair your broken frames. If you have you have a frame that you love, but it does not fit you well, we can fit it with a different bridge or arm size. If you have a design in mind, or want a one off frame design made, we can realize this for you, helping you with every stage of design and production, offering experienced advice on shape and colour. Should you have very little choice of frames in typical Optical stores because you don’t fit conventional frame sizes, we can tailor a pair to your specifications, or if you are involved in Fashion or Design and want to make a limited collection of frames for a show, we can help make this happen.

The process, cost and time scale varies depending on your needs and the quantity of frames required.

Starting with an hour’s consultation to work out the parameters of what you want and need, I will make rough sketches of the frame and take measurements for bridge fittings and arm lengths. During a further consultation I will have drawings of the frames and, upon request, can make a maquette. We then go through and fine-tune your design.

The physical making of the frame can take anything from 4 to 8 weeks. Once they’ve arrive we arrange a fitting date and, all being well, we send them off to the lab have lenses fitted.

Then your one off frame is yours. Forever!
